Weekly Wrap-up ( Monday Aug 2 - Sunday Aug 8 )

The weather has been pretty nice during the days this week; there's been fog in the evenings. We drove up to Joe's of Westlake in Colma one night and got to use the foglights on the Scion. That stretch of freeway can be nasty in the fog., foglights or no foglights.

I "solved" a problem I've been having with the Safari web browser; I couldn't select from certain form menus. I still don't know what was causing the problem but I made it go away. I pulled out my Library folder and put things back a few at a time. When I was done the problem was gone and there were a "invisible" dot files (including the .DS_Store file) left. I'm pretending they aren't there. At this point I don't care what caused the problem so much as the fact that it's gone.

I received a Welcome to the Company flower delivery — it was a huge bouquet of nifty stuff including a slightly odiferoous orcchid :) There are some funny green things, a couple of sunflowers, a bird of paradise, that Hawaiian flower that always looks plastic, a couple of yellow roses... I kept it at the Job all week, then brought it home on Friday (buckled in with the seat belt and propped with my backpack). Now it's in the screenporch. All the kitties had a change to investigate but it's locked away now.

As of last Monday I am "officially" a regular employee — my nameplate no longer says "contractor". Other than that and the flowers, this week was no different from the previous 10 or 12.

I've had a lot of fun this week watching the squirrels at the feeder. There have mostly been grey ones but I saw the black one once as well.

The Scion is on its second tank of gas. Woo hoo. Rich drove it up to Forestville on Sunday to show off to some friends up there.

I had a wonderful nap on Sunday afternoon. Squirrel was all flopped out on the bed so I decided to join him. When I woke up I had acquired Bebop and Mezzaluna somewhere along the way so I lay in bed and snuggled kitties.

I managed to get a lot read this week. I read Gilt by Association, the second in the Den of Antiquity series by Tamar Myers. I also read Undead and Unemployed, second in a series by Mary Janice Davidson, and Murder of a Small Town Honey, first in a series by Diane Swanson. I'm two-thirds through Murder of a Sweet Old Lady, the second book by Diane Swanson.

In between and around the rest, I've never enough naps, several good meals, interesting conversations with Spouse and friends, and snuggles with the cats. I walked half a mile on the treadmill (I know; not enough). I've "chatted" with my Dad, cought up with some of my mailing lists and managed to post a couple of times to my weblog.

Onward and Upward.
