Weekly Wrap-up 2007_08

The weather was variable - blue when it wasn't rainy. There was a rainbow to the north of the train station one morning. I watched it till it faded.

Monday was President's Day. I'm working for a company that takes this as a holiday, so I had a three-day weekend. The downside of this was that we forgot to take the trash to the curb for the Monday morning pickup. That's not much of a downside. :-) ...

Failing the "Output" Test

Dear Pounce

I have a complaint about your New! and Improved! Caribbean Catch (tartar control) kitty treats. In changing the recipe, you substantially increased the amount of blue dye. There is now a lot of yellow and blue and not much red.

Normally, I probably wouldn't notice... or care... ...

Treasures 2007_08

Memories, important yesterdays, were once todays.
Treasure and notice today.

Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words. These are my Treasures for the past week.

  • A Monday Holiday

  • A rainbow - seen and shared - north of the train station one morning. I stood and breathed chocolate and watched the rainbow.

Treasures 2007_07

Medicine, law, business, engineering.
These are noble pursuits. And necessary to sustain life.
But poetry, beauty, romance, love.
These are what we stay alive for.

Weekly Wrap-up 2007_06

The weather was rainy for much of the week. But its spring. The ornamental plum tree in our backyard is covered in pink blossoms. There's still a bit of light left at 6pm. Besides, I rather like rain.

On Feb 5, 1887 (according to one of our calendars) San Francisco had 3.7 inches of snow. Yipes!

One of the more stressful things about taking the train is watching all of the people Running in the morning. Running running running. Why are they all in such an all-fired hurry? ...

Treasures 2007_06

Nature is man's teacher.
She unfolds her treasures to his search, unseals his eye,
illumes his mind, and purifies his heart;
an influence breathes from all the sights and sounds
of her existence.

  • Inhale! The train station has been redolent of chocolate this week, morning and afternoon. Breathe deeply. A fellow passenger said "Make you want a cookie...". That it does. Ahhhhhhh.

Weekly Wrap-up 2007_05

The weather was nice this week. Spring is coming. Our ornamental plum tree is blooming. It's really budding out this year. I wonder if the cold snap was good for it.

I had a teeth-cleaning appointment this week. I took the iPod and headphones. Once I figured out how to make the iPod play (I usually run it via iTunes) I clamped on the headphones and just tried to ignore the scratching and the ouch! that hurts. ...
