Weekly Wrap-up 2006_21

The weather was sunny and clear most of the week, with gusty winds most afternoons.

One of the burner switches on our stove went out as I was cooking scrambled eggs Monday morning. I swapped over to another burner when I realized I had been stirring the eggs for a while and they weren't changing. The light was also out on the burner panel.

After breakfast, Rich opened the stove and checked things out, then made some phone calls. he was able to locate and purchase a replacement switch. We're back to four burners again. ...

(See the game description for further details.)

A is For...

  • Aardvark - You can't have an alphabet without an Aardvark!

  • Alert - one of my favorite punny jokes: Be alert. California needs more lerts. We're short of loofs too. How about fluents? (Two fs, dummy!)

  • Alliteration - In writing, I work in ways to weave my words (alliteratively).

  • Alphabet - Playing the game.

I have a Group I started over a year ago which I call "InsPURRation".

InsPURRation is a group for sharing inspirational and motivational stories, photos, poems, and thoughts. However, you don't need to have a cat to join or participate! :-) People with dogs, rabbits, or just backyard birds & squirrels are very welcome!

E is for Easy

When I was in Grad school, way back before I had email, I used to write letters to family and friends. Once a month or so, I'd pull out stationery and a pen and write a 5-page letter to my folks. I'd stick the letter in an envelope, apply a stamp, and take it to the corner mailbox.

Some years later, when I had email access but "most people" didn't, I'd type my letter on the computer, print it, stick it in an envelope, etc. Not much had changed (but at least my hand didn't cramp). ...

One of the websites I have had bookmarked for a long time is Fair Measures, an employment law company site.

Fair Measures specializes in training executives and managers in management practices that prevent costly employee lawsuits, and in training all employees to create fair and respectful workplaces.
They provide useful information for employees too. If you are an employee (or a manager), I recommend subscribing to their "Ask the Lawyers" eNewsletter. Readers can also submit questions to "Ask the Lawyers".
