Weekly Wrap-up 2008_24

The weather was warm for several days. The fog and wind are back now.

As of June 12, I have been at this Job for 2 years. That's the longest at any Company since 1997 and the longest in a particular job since I'm not sure when.

I've been wandering through Twitter, exploring. I found several new people to follow, including @Raqhun, @BluegrassPoet, and @Judith12. Lyrical people.

Riding Catrain was "interesting" on Monday morning. My train suffered "mechanical problems" just before arriving in Mtn View. Power shut down. The train made an unpowered glide into the station. We got through the intersection before the station... barely, then stopped well shy of the platform. They always say "watch your step" getting off but this time they really meant it — a much longer step than usual and down onto billiard-ball-sized gravel.

Twitter was running in minimum mode Monday morning, in preparation for WWDC. No extra features. No following or followers; no links to other pages. But it was mostly up.

I followed the WWDC Stevenote blogged live (and snarkily :) at engadget.

Doing a bunch of CSS for Work. I was trying to figure out how to make alternating buttons purple instead of yellow. Buttons live in table cells. Table class is "buttons". So, I thought I needed a special class for the alternate cells and couldn't make it work.

Then I had a brilliant realization. Now the purple buttons are in <th> and the yellow in <td> and... tada.

My Squishable Alligator arrived on Wednesday, well squished into a box half his size. Is he an alligator or a crocodile? The web says alligator; his ear tag says crocodile. He's an allidile crocogator. (And very cute and soft and squishy.)

He will live in my cubicle at the Job where I (and co-workers) can squish him whenever we like.

This week I read The Ruby in the Smoke, by Philip Pullman, and Real Murders, by Charlaine Harris.

In between and around the rest, I've had nearly enough naps and oodles of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've chatted with my sister and found topics to twitter.

Onward and Upward.
