Twitterings - May 2008

These are my Twitter entries for May, 2008

  • @strawpoll - sometimes half empty, sometimes half full, maybe just bigger than it needs to be. It depends on the day and what's in my glass. May 01, 2008

  • Weird bugs in twhirl. It supports multiple accounts, but forgets the second every time. I'm getting tired of reopening and reconfiguring. :( May 02, 2008

  • Second twhirl problem. It can't run under two Mac OS X accounts at the same time. It crashes. Not so for other apps. Maybe an Adobe AIR bug? May 02, 2008

  • @strawpoll - 2. my email preference is and has always been for a desktop client. Though, I must admit web clients can be handy on occasion. May 05, 2008

  • Our local Chinese restaurant agreed to make us Toffee Banana (we supplied the bananas). We used to get this in DC but not common around SF. May 06, 2008

  • Riding the train. The man behind me has food. A strong smell of onions. At this time of morning! Why does Caltrain allow eating on trains? May 07, 2008

  • We each have a "scratch 'n sniff" card in our mailboxes. It's a promotion for a new internal tool. This is a Very Weird Company I work for. May 07, 2008

  • New workplace game, along the lines of Buzzword Bingo. Play "Spot The Typo" in the internal company promotional flyers. Nobody proofs these. May 07, 2008

  • I can understand why some people make their Twitter feed private. What I can't understand is then publishing the Twitter link on your blog. May 07, 2008

  • Dear co-workers: For business email, the word "your" should contain 4 letters, beginning with 'yo'. Please make a note of that. Thanks much. May 08, 2008

  • Meeting with HR in 5 min to discuss my job title/description. "Technical Writer" describes only a fraction of what I do. Content management. May 15, 2008

  • Caltrain is on "Level 1 heat restriction" which means the tracks "are hot and they're wiggly". We don't want wiggling. So 60mph max speed. May 15, 2008

  • We're having a heat wave. 83 F in my home office. Ceiling fan now running. Most days, we have natural AC, a steady 13 mph breeze. Not today. May 16, 2008

  • I hate disappointing people, especially when I did something that's entirely in character for me but now I have to listen to "should-have"s. May 16, 2008

  • So, do I nod and lie and say I'll try changing next time? Or am I honest and say "this is who I am, get used to it." I hate confrontations. May 16, 2008

  • The latest heat wave is officially over. Living room is now down to 70. I'm watching fog roll in from the northwest. I love where I live. May 17, 2008
