These are my Twitter entries for May, 2008
- @strawpoll - sometimes half empty, sometimes half full, maybe just bigger than it needs to be. It depends on the day and what's in my glass. May 01, 2008
- Weird bugs in twhirl. It supports multiple accounts, but forgets the second every time. I'm getting tired of reopening and reconfiguring. :( May 02, 2008
- Second twhirl problem. It can't run under two Mac OS X accounts at the same time. It crashes. Not so for other apps. Maybe an Adobe AIR bug? May 02, 2008
- @strawpoll - 2. my email preference is and has always been for a desktop client. Though, I must admit web clients can be handy on occasion. May 05, 2008

- Our local Chinese restaurant agreed to make us Toffee Banana (we supplied the bananas). We used to get this in DC but not common around SF. May 06, 2008
- Riding the train. The man behind me has food. A strong smell of onions. At this time of morning! Why does Caltrain allow eating on trains? May 07, 2008
- We each have a "scratch 'n sniff" card in our mailboxes. It's a promotion for a new internal tool. This is a Very Weird Company I work for. May 07, 2008
- New workplace game, along the lines of Buzzword Bingo. Play "Spot The Typo" in the internal company promotional flyers. Nobody proofs these. May 07, 2008
- I can understand why some people make their Twitter feed private. What I can't understand is then publishing the Twitter link on your blog. May 07, 2008
- Dear co-workers: For business email, the word "your" should contain 4 letters, beginning with 'yo'. Please make a note of that. Thanks much. May 08, 2008

- Saw a young boy, 9 or 10, with "hair tattoos". HIs head was partially shaved w/ geometric patterns, swirls shaved into the fuzz. Impressive. May 10, 2008
- It's so good (if historically uncommon) to have a reasonable manager. I can say "I need tasks" and not fear to be given busywork. Thank you! May 12, 2008

- Caltrain is on "Level 1 heat restriction" which means the tracks "are hot and they're wiggly". We don't want wiggling. So 60mph max speed. May 15, 2008
- We're having a heat wave. 83 F in my home office. Ceiling fan now running. Most days, we have natural AC, a steady 13 mph breeze. Not today. May 16, 2008
- I hate disappointing people, especially when I did something that's entirely in character for me but now I have to listen to "should-have"s. May 16, 2008

- @missrogue - The Yoyo was a device that handled Caller ID for the Macintosh, but before its time. Caller ID not prevalent. Yoyo failed. Sad. May 18, 2008

- @strawpoll - I generally buy and read paperbacks; more fit on the shelf. But for books I want to keep "forever" (or thick!), hardcover wins. May 22, 2008
- I've got Robert Jordan and Terry Goodkind in hardcover, partly by preference but also, a paperback that long can crack the spine on reading. May 22, 2008

- I have upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). There were some glitches, including a user error with Firewire, but I'm up and working, A-OK. May 27, 2008
- Time Machine is preparing backup 0 on Leopard. Why this is So. Very. Slow. I do not know. It's 10% finished and has been running for hours. May 27, 2008
- A small bird tried to land on our frontyard anemometer this morning. One loop around the carousel; small bird thought balloon said "Whoops!" May 28, 2008

- I am really liking the new look of iCal in Mac OS X Leopard. "Show info" for an event took a little time to get used to, but I'm now a fan. May 30, 2008
- 12-pound dust moosie on our living room rug. Technically, it's a cat, but it looks for all the world like a dust moosie from this angle. May 31, 2008
