Weekly Wrap-up 2008_17

Happy 25th Anniversary to Rich and me this week. W00t!

The weather started out WINDY, but ended calm. Unfortunately, the wind ate the giant pinwheel we had in front of the house. :(

I've ordered a wireless anemometer to replace it. It won't be pretty but it may hold up longer. As a bonus, we'll know the wind speed, temp, and wind chill factor.

We had rain on Tuesday night. Not so usual for April.

Tuesday was Earth Day. This was "Low Carbon Diet" day at the Company cafeteria. No cheese. No beef. (Except at the burrito area where, apparently, they had both. So much for consistency.)

Much discussion on internal email lists. Guess how many people went out for lunch.

San Francisco Perl User Group social dinner meeting at Old Jerusalem restaurant in the Mission. 8 people. Good food. Great company.

Interesting deserts. One thing like baklava with cream filling. Anothe called kanefa - melted cheese and shredded wheat and the color of marinara sauce but sweet and tasty.

New shuttles at the Company. Good News — we got to keep our best drivers.

Speaking of the shuttle... There was a woman on the shuttle Wednesday morning and she was like, on her cell phone and she was like, talking. And I'm like, when did people start talking this way? And she's like, doing it every sentence. And I'm like, stop, please!

We lost our group Project Manager at the Job - she's off to greener pastures. Do you know a Project Manager looking for a new gig?

This week I read Sorceress of Faith, by Robin D. Owens. This is second in the series, apparently, so I'll be reading the first book next.

In between and around the rest, I've had nearly enough naps and oodles of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've chatted with my sister and found topics to twitter.

Onward and Upward.
