Weekly Wrap-up 2008_11
The weather was mostly pleasant, with some very foggy days. Friday night, it began to rain.
It's Girl Scout Cookie Time. The Brownies are in front of Longs Drugs and the Juniors are in front of Mollie Stones. Sorry girls, I already bought my cookies.
We went to Todai for lunch on Rich's birthday.
When we got home, I grabbed cats and headed off for a good nap.
I installed a TWiki on Rich's laptop. Although I've installed many TWikis, this one took some effort and investigation - Mac OS X 10.5 uses Apache 2 and Apache 2 has changed a few things. I finally got it working.
I took my Asus EeePC with me on Monday — and left the slipcase in the train! I've called CalTrain Lost&Found — no joy. I called Asus; they don't "carry" replacement slipcases. That is so lame.
I was pleased with Asus' thoughtfulness when they included a slipcase in the box with the EeePC. Now I'm annoyed. So much for customer service.
There is a cafeteria in my building at the Job. They have croissant breakfast sandwiches. I do not need to eat a breakfast sandwich every morning. I do not need to eat one many mornings. (I'm not even sure that once a week is OK.) But... yum. They're tempting.
This week they made some with bacon and sausage. Oh my.
Friday was Pi Day (3.14). An announcement came in to the internal development "random" mailing list at 1:59. Cute. (He missed 1:59:26 by 4 seconds.)
This week I read Improbable, by Adam Fawer It's excellent, with an unusual and interesting premise. I also read To Love and to Perish, a Cozy mystery by Laura Durham
In between and around the rest, I've had nearly enough naps and oodles of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. My sister is out of town on a business trip, so no IMs this week, and I'm still (sadly) terribly behind on twitter.
Onward and Upward.
