Weekly Wrap-up 2008_01

Clear, clear, cold, clear, cloudy, RAIN!

Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve was, as always, quiet for us. We stay home, drink eggnog, and wait for the fireworks at midnight.

Wednesday - back to the Job after 12 days. Good to see co-workers. Hard to be back.

I installed iWork 08 this week. I think I'm going to like "Numbers" a lot.

We had a huge storm come in on Thursday night. We had rain and high winds for most of Friday, even a little lightning! There was localized flooding in parts of the area, lots of branches (and trees!) down, power out for many people. I worked from home on Friday (as usual). We ad a lot of flickering for part of the day and lost power briefly a few times, but the UPS kept the computer going. Rich's Company suggested everyone leave early (about 2pm) because of the weather. satellite

Apparently someone at Ghirardelli Chocolates must have visited the Kitchen of Mother Moose. The new "Intense Dark" chocolate line has very suspicious names: Evening Dreams, Mint Bliss, Twilight Delight, Toffee Interlude, Citrus Sunset, and Espresso Escape. (I wonder if we are escaping from Espresso or to it?)

If you've never visited the Kitchen of Mother Moose, get a copy of Willy Claflin's CD, "Maynard Moose Sleeping Beastly and Other Tales" and listen to the tale of "The Little Moose Who Couldn't Fall Asleep".

This week I read Competitions by Sharon Green. We watched Demon Hunters: Dead Camper Lake on DVD. It's a pretty good "bad" movie, recommended by a co-worker. It has its moments.

In between and around the rest, I've had nearly enough naps and oodles of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've chatted with my sister and found topics to twitter.

Onward and Upward.
