Weekly Wrap-up 2007_51

The weather was mostly clear, occasionally chilly, with rain mid-week. I woke a few times to the sound of rain in the night on Wednesday. Nice.

I received a nice squidgly fleece warmup as a Company Holiday gift. Very nice. Black microfleece with a grey stripe and the company name tastefully embroidered.

Default Folder X (one of my "must have" utilities) has released a New! and Improved! interface in v. 4. I hate it. :-( White text on black. Oooogly. I sent a complaint and received a promising response. Apparently, I'm not the only who has complained. The developer will work out some appearance options. Thanks Jon!

Rich has been doing a project on the laptop. To keep the cats from disturbing things, Harry Homeowner built a wooden keyboard cover. Solid and well-made.

We tried a new (to us) Thai restaurant. Mostly good, except for the duck salad which was... dusty?

Our xo laptop arrived on Thursday. Whoopee. This will be fun to play with! I'll be posting first impressions real soon.

Thursday was also my last day commuting to the South Bay until Jan 2. I get twelve days "off". I'm working some of those days (I get three holidays) but I'll be working from home.

This week I read A Charmed Death and Hex Marks the Spot, two "Bewitching mysteries" by Madelyn Alt. I also finished The Fair Folk, an anthology of 6 medium-length fantasy tales, edited by by Marvin Kaye.

In between and around the rest, I've had nearly enough naps and oodles of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've chatted with my sister and found topics to twitter.

As I type this, Bebop is curled in a ball n the chair next to me. Awwwww. I'm looking forward to 12 days with kitties.

Onward and Upward.
