Weekly Wrap-up 2007_38

It was extremely windy and "nippy" on Wednesday. At the train station, a woman was sheltering from the wind INSIDE the station elevator, preventing the doors from closing. How rude!

On Saturday, it rained. Wow. We had a light shower at about 6pm the night before, then it started to rain steadily sometime in the night (I woke up and heard it).

I woke up Saturday morning at about 7:20 and lay in bed, loving on Bebop and listening to the rain. Rain in September is unusual where we live.

Duckies0

There were tiny rubber duckies in the restrooms at Work on Wednesday, sitting next to the sinks. I have no idea why. Over the day, they gradually disappeared. Maybe I should have kept one. They were duckies like these (some in hats)

We still have no idea why they were there.

Rich has a new job starting next Monday. He's been filling out forms.

I convinced both Rich and my sister to sign up for Twitter

Overheard at our favorite diner, from the next table.

Girl 1: Oh. My. God. I ordered a _side_ of hashbrowns!
Girl 2: I think that is a "side" plate. And you still have a waffle coming.

I bought myself a toy, a digital photo frame. It runs photos from an SD card, so I loaded a bunch of pictures onto a 256 MB card I had. But I kept having problems; the copy operation kept claiming I was out of space at 10 MB.

I'd try to copy. It would fail. I'd try something else. Norton Antivirus would hang. Then the Finder would hang. Then I'd reboot. Over and Over and Over again.

Aaarrrgh.

I finally realized at about midnight that the problem with the SD card isn't SPACE so much as NUMBER of files. Oh.

I think I need a smaller SD card. Why waste 256 MB on 10 MB of files? SSo I looked on the Web and ordered a pair of 32 MB cards for a grand total of $14.00 including shipping. It's no longer possible to find cards with less than 1 GB capacity in the local stores.

Sunday was the first Fall Leopards Etc program There was a big crowd with lots of kids; very noisy :-(

They brought Kamau (cheetah), Shoshone (cougar), Mara (caracal), Oksana (lynx), and Chimane (ocelot). Yum.

This week I read Late for the Wedding and Wicked Widow, Regency romance/mysteries by Amanda Quick.

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals (including one night of crispy strips and biscuits from KFC). and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've been chatting with my sister.

Onward and Upward.
