Weekly Wrap-up 2007_36

The weather was nicer this week. Not as hot.

This was the week of my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday Sister.

We had brunch on Sunday at a Guatemalan restaurant on Mission Street in San Francisco. Unfortunately, we got there at 10:30 and they don't open until 11:00. We thought we'd take a walk around the neighborhood for half an hour.

Remind me never to think this again. That neighborhood is decidedly ugly at 10:30 on a Monday morning. Nothing is open. It's dirty and locked up. Also, Monday is trash day and it stinks. Ugh.

My group at the Job moved cubicles. I was lucky; six of us were able to stay where we were. The rest of the team has moved into the area where I am, to join us.

This was handy because we could offer safe storage for fragile and not-easily-boxable items during the move. A lot of people took us up on the offer.

Most of the team worked from home on Friday. Those who couldn't camped out in a conference room or in one of the cubicles that weren't affected. (I think there were at least three people "borrowing" my space that day, along with a server that was moved in on Thursday.)

Rich had a job interview this week. It could be promising...

We had a spectacular sunrise on Thursday morning. A big Orange ball blazed a ribbon of tangerine light across the Bay. "International Orange" is a color found in nature, sometimes.

Conroy Giraffe

We went to the Mountain View Art & Wine Festival on Sunday. We bought some new t-shirts from an artist we particularly like (right).

We missed the chance to take the train so we drove. That wasn't too bad, although we got a little lost trying to get back to the highway to go home. Parking was easy; $5 to support a local health association got us all day parking in a shady garage.

Try Science Shirt 300

I also ordered some t-shirts from Think Geek and one from xkcd (left).

This week I read Final Intuition, a murder mystery by Claire Daniels.

We watched parts of The Dresden Files, season 1 and Remington Steele, season 2, on DVD

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've had a few chats with my sister.

Onward and Upward.
