Weekly Wrap-up 2007_25

The weather was grey for several days.

I've been looking into web=based calendar apps that support iCal format calendar subscription. The two most promising are Thyme (pretty and powerful) and Monket Calendar (pretty and free).

The Usenix (Unix Users) conference was this week, in Santa Clara. Rich went down to many of the sessions. We used to go to Usenix every year but, over time, our paths diverged from that of the conference (and trips out of town cost money.)

The conference was held a few miles from where I work, so we carpooled on Wednesday. I drove back and met Rich for lunch and again after the conference day ended, to drive us both home.

This week I read Second Sight, a Victoria paranormal mystery romance by Amanda Quick. This was well written, with people I'd like to know better). I also read Proven Guilty, a Dresden Files wizard novel by Jim Butcher. , by .

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. A friend of ours invited us for dinner and baked a chicken pot pie. She also served a very tasty iced tea.

I've had a few chats with my sister and exchanged email with my Mom.

Onward and Upward.
