Weekly Wrap-up 2007_21

The weather was alternately gray and sunny.

Our group at Work was supposed to move this week, but now that's on indefinite hold, so I don't have to pack...

Rich had minor surgery to repair a small hernia this week. They do this as an outpatient procedure now. One of the nurses told Rich that, when she started doing this (10 or 20 years ago), he'd probably have been in the hospital for a week. Yeeps!

I left work at 1:45 and took CalTrain to Palo Alto where I picked Rich up and drove us home. This was more difficult than it should have been because it took a while to find the car. Rich was foggy... he kept saying he'd drawn a map but couldn't tell me where he had driven into the parking lot. The nurse knew nothing about the parking lot; the surgecenter exits into the opposite side of the lot. We eventually found the car (right where I expected it to be, if I'd only known where I was) and headed home.

We stopped off at a restaurant that serves breakfast all day. Rich thought scrambled eggs would be good. (By this time, it was 4pm and he'd had "nothing by mouth" since midnight last night.

I took off a day from Work on Friday. That gave me a nice 4-day weekend and let me be available to Rich if he needed me.

I registered for Second Life last week and have been struggling with customizing the Avatar. The interface is both Windows-like and difficult to understand.

This week we watched Mystery Men — mostly dumb, but it had its moments — and Flushed Away (very cute).

I read G'Day to Die, a mystery by Maddy Hunter; Anyone But You, light romance by Jennifer Crusie; and Red Heart of Jade, paranormal mystery by Marjorie M Liu.

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've had a few chats with my sister and exchanged email with my Mom. Mom & Dad also called on Friday night to ask about Rich and we all talked for a while.

Onward and Upward.
