Weekly Wrap-up 2007_19

We had a brief heat wave this week. It lasted for two days.

Rich and I tried a new restaurant called Au's Kitchen. They opened this week. It's Cantonese Chinese, quite good. The wontons in the Wor Won Ton soup are more like siu mai. Very solid, packed with pork and shrimp, the wonton wrap simply holds everything together; very good. There are some unusual things on the menu. The lemongrass porkchop was tasty.

We've been very pleased with our silicone, heat-resistant, kitchen scrapers, so we went looking for spatulas and pancake turners as well. Because silicone is floppy, these have a metal core. I think we'll like them.

We also got a nifty double-ended scrapper, a silicone baster brush, and a flexible avocado slicer.

If you like crafts projects, check into Craft Supplies For Less. I found it while searching for sticky-back foam sheets. They sell those, and a whole lot more. Take a look.

Do you know about I Can Has Cheezburger, and LOLCat? If you like silly cat pictures and haven't seen these... check them out.

Rich is officially a great-uncle. His niece and her husband have a brand-new daughter. Wishing a very happy birthday to Madeline Isabella.

This week we watched The Night Stalker and The Night Strangler, two made-for-tv movies from 1973, starring Darrin McGavin as Carl Kolchak.

We also watched The Kid, a fun fantasy with Bruce Willis and Spencer Breslin.

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I had a chat with my sister (wow :-) and exchanged email with my Mom.

Onward and Upward.
