Weekly Wrap-up 2007_17

The weather was nice.

There were some interesting birds in the street in front of the house this morning. They were a bit bigger than blackbirds, similar coloring (but with brown streaks), and moved like quail. They were finding and eating worms left by the recent rain.

According to the bird book, they're starlings

I think I understand why sometimes I feel exhausted when I get home from The Job.. It's akin to an adrenaline crash. I have to be Up, Organized, and Thinking all day. When I get home, I crash.

We got our new TV this week. We've been watching movies

My team at Work had an offsite - lunch at a Persian restaurant followed by bowling. Lunch worked well. 18 people and a variety of kebab. We asked the restaurant to just bring a selection and they did. That was much nicer than everyone ordering individually; everyone got what they wanted and as much as they wanted.

I had fun bowling. I even got one strike! Things got much better after I traded up for a ball with "large" holes (a little bit big turned out to be much better than a little bit tight, especially with a not-quite-healed sore thumb.)

We stopped by the post office on Saturday. We had a card in the box for an item that needed a signature. So. I waited in line to sign for an express mail package. It was a 1" thick stack of legalish paper about the merger my former company is trying to enter into. Feh! What a waste of paper and my time!

We've been watching movies: The Pink Panther w/ Steve Martin. It's fun; see it. Robin Hood w/ Errol Flynn. Pleasantville: This was quite good and not what I expected. Monster House is great fun.

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends.

Onward and Upward.
