Weekly Wrap-up 2006_10

The weather was pleasant and spring-like. Sunday was quite warm.

The train home on Monday was 10 minutes late because it had to work around a disabled train to the south. That meant our northbound train picked us up on the southbound side of the track. Weird! However, they recently installed a loudspeaker system at this station and so we were told to move over to the other side to catch the train. That's better than hoping we'll notice a change to the scrolling sign boards.

On the way home, I passed Walgreens. The LED sign out front offered a special on COUTGH DROPS.

We listened to part of an interesting program on the radio on Friday night. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of New York City's Hayden Planetarium, was discussing his book, Death by Black Hole and Other Cosmic Quandaries. It was an interesting and enjoyable talk. (We listened to the CA Commonwealth Club talk, but you can hear a similar talk from his Talk of the Nation appearance.)

On Saturday, I learned that I can use the laptop without moving my wrists. :-)

Last but not least, Sunny Sunday — Daylight Saving Time started earlier this year, hoorah hoorah! I am a happy person.

This week I read To Kingdom Come, by Will Thomas and The Man From the Diogenes Club, by Kim Newman.

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. Work has been OK.

Onward and Upward.
