Weekly Wrap-up 2006_29

The weather was HOT. Unpleasantly, miserably, biggest topic of conversation, day and night, don't wanna do anything, too darn hot. Ugh.

Monday was a Spare the Air day, as were Thursday and Friday. Wednesday was muggy (muggy! here!!). By Friday it was most uncomfortable. On Saturday morning, it was 82 degrees in our bedroom at 10am. On Sunday evening, 90,000 people in the hottest East and South Bay locations were still without power, many because of blown transformers.

We're very happy that we live on the Peninsula. By 10pm Sunday, it had cooled down enough where we live that we could close the windows.

I "chatted" with the deaf woman on the train. She asked if I have a dog (there's a lot of pet hair on my clothes :-) I told her no dog; we have cats.We talked about her neighbors cat who goes outside and roams for days, causing the neighbor to worry. That cat also eats birds. Our cats stay in the house.

We shopped at Whole Foods again. We got a bunch of interesting dried fruit. Dried papaya is yummy.

My new Dell flat-panel monitor came.! Rich installed it for me. It's very nice!

I'm running mine in landscape mode. We had to move the left and right monitors out a bit but everything fits nicely on my desk.

Rabbi! We have so much room!

My toe is getting better.

This week I read Tiger Eye, a cool urban fantasy-romance by Marjorie M. Liu. Shape-shifters, psi talents, magic, and suspense, plus great writing. I also read A Meeting of Minds, one of the better Thames Valley mysteries by Clare Curzon .

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends.

Onward and Upward.
