Treasures 2006_23

For those who are willing to make an effort,
great miracles and wonderful treasures are in store.

-- Isaac Bashevis Singer

Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words. These are my Treasures for the past week.

  • Der Feedermaus (nose twitching)

  • Our reconditioned flying gargoyle; Rich did a terrific repair job!

  • Dim Sum

  • Two perfect "canonical" spider webs, on the front porch Jade plant, sparkling with fog droplets.

  • Four jacaranda trees in bloom in a haze of purple.

  • A long row of cows going... where were they going? Home to the barn, I guess. Certainly somewhere, on their own. One by one in neat single file.

  • A grey squirrel at the feeder, nibbling kernels of corn

  • Discovering that there are more shuttles than I knew about to and from my new job (so I have more flexibility.)

  • A delightfully fun book, first in a new series. I can hardly wait for the sequel.

  • Eggs Florentine, NY steak, and country potatoes, plus a bowl of fresh fruit. Shared. Sometimes, you have to splurge.
