Treasures 2006_21

I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.

-- Lao Tzu

Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words. These are my Treasures for the past week.

  • Sighting a ground Squirrel sitting on the fence as I drove through Palo Alto.

  • Snuggling with Bebop (his paws on my shoulder ala Kilroy).

  • Watching a woodrat at the feeder. He looked right at me, pink nose and big ears twitching!

  • The new screw-cap spout on the cartons of my favorite brand of Half&Half.

  • French toast - these days a rare but oh-so tasty treat.

  • The small round rainbow on the wall in our entryway, made by the setting sun coming through the peephole in the front door.

  • Mezzaluna, lying on the "spare" pillow next to my head, making meaningful eye contact with me.

  • My kitties, who are "hiding" because of the noises from the roofing project, are hiding in my office with me because they feel safe here.

  • A new blog meme to play.

  • The Sandra Boynton Giant Philadelphia Chicken.

  • Thundering Woodrats!
