Weekly Wrap-up 2006_
The weather was drippy and grey early in the week, with rain on Monday night. It cleared up significantly by the weekend. Saturday and Sunday were blue and lovely, with little white sailboats dotting the Bay!
Rich had a job interview on Monday. He spent most of the day down the Peninsula running errands too. The interview went well and he now has a 4-week contract. If that goes well, we'll hope for an extension or a job offer.
I had two telephone interviews last week that went very well. I have an in-person interview scheduled for this coming Tuesday.
I'm still getting up to 100 steps on the stepper. I haven't broken 105 yet, though.
Rich and I bought 1/8 of an iPod as part of IPac's plan to donate iPods to help educate our Senators about technology.
IPac says:
Update, 8:00 pm, February 4: We've now raised enough funds to buy twelve iPods! See [the site] for which Senators we'll be sending them to, and help us reach iPod number 13 and beyond so more Senators can be educated about the value of innovative technology.
The SF Chronicle is doing an article on "Addicted to the Computer". I sent a note to te reporter. She called me and we had a nice chat about computer use, IM, email, blackberries, and more. Look for a further report in an upcoming weblog entry.
A College friend of mine was in town this past weekend (he's giving a paper at a conference in SF on Tuesday). He sent email with his cell phone number. I called and we arranged to meet up on Sunday night for dinner.
This week I finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I read Lady in Gil and Scion's Lady by Rebecca Bradley. Actually, I only read half of Lady in Gil; I mostly skipped the entire middle and then read the end to see how it came out. The middle part was just too dreadful; the description of Gil under the Sherank occupation was just too filthy and oppressed ... ick!
In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've had a few chats with my Dad and exchanged email with my Mom.
Rich got on the phone and helped my Dad set up a D-Link firewall/router box. Dad has finally set up the blue & white G3 I sent, so he's on Mac OS X now and Mom's on MacOS 9.
Who won the Splendid Bowl game?
Onward and Upward.
