Weekly Wrap-up 2005_19

Still rainy on Monday but clear for the rest of the week. This was good because some people down the street decided to have their roof replaced (old roof removed Tuesday, plywood applied Wednesday, new shingles installed Thursday).

I had my performance review at the Job on Wednesday. It was... quite good actually. I got several 4's (exceeds expectations) and an overall 94%. (Hey! I got an 'A'). I guess they like me.

We spent a somewhat nervous 24 hours wondering where Rich had misplaced his wallet. It turned up missing Wednesday night and was found late Thursday afternoon "in an unusual place which had made sense at the time". Rich had taken his wallet out of his pocket while he was lying on the floor trying to get a kink out of his back. Because he was on the floor, he reached over and put the wallet on the lower level of one of the living room tables, well below normal human eye level. Out of sight, out of memory.

The place that "made sense at the time". I think we should stop putting things there...

This week we celebrated Raven's officially declared birthday. Because Raven came to us with no recorded history, we got to pick a birthday for him. We chose the day he came out of his two-weeks of quarantine and joined the family. It's been a wonderful two years (seems like always) and he's a real love bug.

I'm reading Hidden Truth, the second in Dawn Cook's fantasy series. Rich has started First Truth. He reads slightly faster than I do (and also longer into the night). Any guesses when he will ask to "play through"?

In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats, including a lovely late afternoon nap with Raven who likes to snuggle with my arm wrapped around him gently rubbing his tummy. I woke up with Raven sleeping on my hand but a good kitty snuggle is worth a few numb fingers :-).

As usual, there have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've chatted with my friend Bari in Texas (who wished Raven noogies and skritches on of his special day!) and exchanged email with my Mom and sister. No chats with Dad this week; I've gotten back to the computer rather late for Pennsylvania.

Onward and Upward.
