Weekly Wrap-up (Mon Sept 20 - Sun Sept 26)
The mornings are darker. The days are shorter. The prettiest time of day is 3 in the afternoon. I often go for a short walk at that time, just to get out of the building and out in the air.
It's been a quiet week in Lake Woebegone...
Not much of note happened this week. I got up. I went to the Job. I worked. I came home and crashed. That about covers the week.
One of Rich's friends (from when he lived in the Maryland / DC area) was in town this week for a conference. Lindley stayed with us on Saturday night. Rich drove into the City and picked her up after brunch (I stayed home with the cats). Then Rich and Lindley drove up to Point Reyes for some sightseeing while I read and napped and generally vegged. They got back to the house around 7:30 and the three of us went down to The Fish Market for dinner.
Sunday we had an early brunch at our favorite diner, then dropped Lindley off at the airport for her flight back to Maryland.
A little later in the day on Sunday, Rich & I went down to the Verizon store. One of our Cell phones had been having trouble reaching a cell and we had decided to replace it. We ended up replacing both Motorola StarTacs and consolidating our cell phone plans. I will also be replacing my Handspring Visorphone with a Kyocera 7135 ("will be" because the store was out of stock so I'm waiting for the phone to show up).
I got in a lot of reading this week. I finished Something From the Nightside and Agents of Light and Darkness by Simon R Green. These are the first two of the three books published in the series, so far. I'm saving the third book for a little while. I find that reading too many books in the same series without separating them by other things is like eating too much of one particular kind of candy.
I also read Murder of Sleeping Beauty, Murder of a Snake in the Grass, and Murder of Barbie and Ken, all mysteries (duh :-) by Denise Swanson. She writes well and I'm enjoying the series.
In between and around the rest, I've had several naps, good meals, some interesting conversations, a few Chats with my Dad, five Distracting and Frustrating Days at The Job, and not nearly enough snuggles with the cats.
Onward and Upward. (Still Slogging Slowly.)
