Weekly Wrap-up ( Monday Aug 30 - Sunday Sept 5 )

The week started out cool but heated up again by Friday. Saturday was a real scorcher.

Mom & Dad spent Monday and Tuesday of this week in Arizona and Nevada, returning to San Bruno on Tueday evening.

On Monday, I went home at lunchtime and had lunch with Rich, sharing the calzone I bought on Sunday night.

Tuesday afternoon I left work at 4 and headed to the grocery store, then home (to put the food away) and then to the airport to pick up the folks (whose plane was 25 minutes early coming in). Rich got home at 6pm and at 8 we had dinner with friends (one of whom was celebrating his birthday).

Wednesday night we had dinner with two more friends. This time it was Rich's brother-in-law and his brother. They had driven up from Southern California for an overnight trip (B-i-l's Bro having purchased a car on eBay from a man in our area).

Saturday was my sister's 35th birthday (again - how many is that now? ;-) so we called her in the morning to wish her a happy.

Saturday was also day #1 of the annual Millbrae Labor Day weekend Art & Wine festival. We wandered down for an hour on Saturday after brunch. The first thing I bought was a sun visor; the first thin Rich bought was a hat. It was HOT both Saturday and Sunday — mid-80's in our living room; 101 in the sun (one of the craft vendors sold outdoor thermometers :-(

We made sure that Mom & Dad experienced plenty and varied ethnic cuisines this week — Salvadorian (pupusas), Greek, Indian (buffet), and Dim Sum — as well as the more ordinary — pasta, seafood, American breakfasts, and homemade turkey cabbage soup).

This week, I finished Murder in the Hearse Degree, by Tim Cockey and read A Penny Urned by Tamar Myer and Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie.

In between and around the rest, I've had several naps, good meals, interesting conversations, and snuggles with the cats. I did another loads of laundry and a load of dishes. My chats with my Mom and Dad were in person again this week!

Onward and Upward.
