Here's to "Down with Love"

Are you a fan of Rock Hudson & Doris Day? Do you miss the romantic comedies from the sixties? The ones with Tony Randall as the "best friend"? Do you think "They just don't make movies like that anymore"?

Well, they made one.

Down With Love stars Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor in the roles that Doris Day and Rock Hudson were born to play. I swear someone found all of Doris Day's old movie costumes for Renée Zellweger to wear and I know I've seen those sets before!

David Hyde Pierce channels a younger Tony Randall so perfectly I had to see the real Tony Randall (in a cameo role as the publisher) to convince myself I hadn't gone back in time.

The plot:

When best-selling feminist author Barbara Novack becomes the target of dashing playboy Catcher Block, the sparks they generate will fly you to the moon and back.

Complete with split screen scenes, gadgety bachelor pad (with push-button moving bed), vintage cars and costumes, and classic script... they just don't make 'em like this anymore!
