Treasures 2004_17

Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, things that make me feel happy or thankful or interested, things that are worth remembering. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words.

I gather my Treasures throughout the week. What are some of your Treasures for last week? I hope you'll consider sharing your own list of Treasures here, or starting a list in your personal weblog or journal. If you enjoy this sort of thing, take a look at the participation positives web ring.

My treasures for the past week include

  • Sitting on the screenporch with Bebop and Squirrel, watching birds and a grey squirrel at the feeder. The g.s. took several peanuts. He ate the first one which sitting on the railing, looking in at us. I could hear the crunch as he broke through the shell to get to the yummy part. Crunch crunch. Our Squirrel said Chckhkhkhkhk.
  • A nap with both Mezzaluna and Raven - Mezzaluna on my chest, Raven snuggled into my left shoulder. Mezzaluna even gave Raven little snoofles.
  • Tuna juice! (Actually, the tuna juice itself is a Treasure for the kitties. But watching the four of them enjoying it is a definite Treasure for me. ;-)
  • Picking up a kitty, hugging him closely, inhaling his spicy scent. I always think my cats smell like cinnamon.
  • It's still light out at 7:45! Whoo hoo, The sun was just going down to the west. There were a few nice pink clouds. Technically, sunset was at 7:51 here yesterday; twilight ended at 8:19.I love Springtime!
  • Finishing the pre-interview qualification test for a job I applied for last week (and submitting the results). Now we wait, fingers crossed.
  • Hearing from another recruiter that she submitted my resume to the hiring manager. It's not a job, but it's _progress_.
  • A sunny day after nearly a week of clouds and drizzle.
  • A little girl whose shoes flash blue light with each step - even more fun to see after dark.. Why don't they make shoes like this in my size?!
  • Raven, initiating a game of "Chase Me" while in the alcove by the door to the garage. Unsure which way to go, he was running in tight little circles till he spiraled it out into the next room!
  • The mural painted on a fence by a home in the next neighborhood over from ours.
  • Red roses, pale lavender roses and yellow irises in the front yard of a house I passed. Another house in a different part of town with a riot of rosebushes in front - red, yellow, white, pink, as big as cabbages!
  • Fields of bright orange California poppies, exuberantly embracing the sun!
  • Chocolate cake "made without flour - rich and decadent, yet not too sweet, sort of a dense semi-sweet brownie thing with icing. Ala mode (of course).
  • Hagen Dazs peach ice cream. Oooh. Peachy!!
  • Our sweet, fluffy, nutty, Squirrel cat's 4th adoption anniversary.
