Treasures 2004_10

Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, things that make me feel happy or thankful or interested, things that are worth remembering. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words.

I gather my treasures through out the week. Please feel free to start your own lists of Treasures on your own weblog or here in the comments.

My treasures for the past week include

  • An iridescent red and blue scarf, worn by a woman I passed on the street; when I complimented her on it, she said she'd bought it this morning in the SF Hilton "for 10 bucks".

  • A large vase of daffodils by the sink in the women's restroom at the Thai restaurant this evening; another vase of daffodils by the cash register. Daffodils are my favorite flower.

  • The smell of daffodils is a treasure in itself

  • A bunch of large, colorful chili peppers hanging in the same restroom; on closer inspection they turned out to be made of wax - they were candles!

  • A starry sky; Orion is my favorite constellation, probably because it rises in the sky around my birthday.

  • Richard waking me at 2am for a soak in the hot tub - hot water, good company, and a megawatt moon

  • Daffodils blooming on a neighbor's side hill. Did they plant them there? They must haave.

  • Bebop stretched out long between my legs as I read with my feet up, splooged into the space formed between my knees and thighs.

  • All four cats joining me in the room for a nap; waking with Bebop snugged into my arm, tummy up, all four feet pointing at the ceiling; gently rubbing the belly fur so as not to disturb him unduly.

  • Two antique (twenties?) cars, passing me on the highway. I love California; this happens fairly often.

  • Fresh, ripe strawberries and angel food cake
