Treasures
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you.
(Jim Croce, Time in a Bottle)
In the spirit of Participation Positives, I am starting my own "meme", which I'm calling Treasures. Throughout the week, I will try to make note of little treasures in my life positive things that strike my fancy, things that make me feel happy or thankful or interested things that are worth remembering, even in just a few words. Then at the end of the week, I'll post my list. Feel free to do likewise.
This week my Treasures include
- an interview! I didn't get the job but they seemed to like me and they say they'll hold onto my resume
- a faint but visible 120 degree arc of rainbow out the east facing windows at last Tuesday afternoon
- Christmas decorations on our street (now that it's mid-December :-)
- Edamame
- Thursday – sitting shelling soybeans - and my ready "helpers"
- 4 furry friends
- a spouse and a good friend who were polite when I burnt the vegetable soup :-(
- full moonlight through our sunroom (moonroom) roof at night
- an extra bowl of fruit at closing time in our favorite diner ("Here, he made too many!")
- the sound of rain on the roof
- the greening of the hills with the winter rains
- two mule deer strolling along the side of the road today
- slanting sunbeams
- a Christmas tree (I swear!) on the top of Sweeney Ridge (elevation 1200 feet)
