Treasures

In the spirit of Participation Positives, I am starting my own "meme", which I'm calling Treasures. Throughout the week, I will try to make note of little treasures in my life — positive things that strike my fancy, things that make me feel happy or thankful or interested — things that are worth remembering, even in just a few words. Then at the end of the week, I'll post my list. Feel free to do likewise.

This week my Treasures include

• an interview! I didn't get the job but they seemed to like me and they say they'll hold onto my resume
• a faint but visible 120 degree arc of rainbow out the east facing windows at last Tuesday afternoon
• Christmas decorations on our street (now that it's mid-December :-)
• Edamame
• Thursday – sitting shelling soybeans - and my ready "helpers"
• 4 furry friends
• a spouse and a good friend who were polite when I burnt the vegetable soup :-(
• full moonlight through our sunroom (moonroom) roof at night
• an extra bowl of fruit at closing time in our favorite diner ("Here, he made too many!")
• the sound of rain on the roof
• the greening of the hills with the winter rains
• two mule deer strolling along the side of the road today
• slanting sunbeams
• a Christmas tree (I swear!) on the top of Sweeney Ridge (elevation 1200 feet)
