Cranberry Sauce

We found a simple and tasty recipe for cranberry sauce. We made a few slight changes from the original. Much less salt, half the "sugar" (we used Splenda).

  • 1 bag of fresh Cranberries (12 oz)
  • 1/2 to 1 cup Sugar (or sugar substitute equivalent)
  • 1 cup Water
  • dash of salt salt

  1. Pick through cranberries to remove soft and/or brown ones.
  2. Put cranberries in a pot on the stove; Add the the rest of the ingredients. Mix gently.
  3. Bring to a boil on medium-high heat. Then lower heat to simmer. The cranberries will pop and start to gel.
  4. Cook until the sauce is the consistency you want, stirring frequently — 5 to 15 minutes.
