XML - Extensible Markup language - a fully buzzword compatible
document processing standard.
OML - Ostensible Markup language - looks like XML, tastes like
XML, parsed by XML parsers..., but there's no need to get compulsive.
vendor-supplied data files - data files as supplied by BARRA,
FTSE, MCSI, etc, in their original (and varying) formats.
framework - more than a template, less than a usable file,
the configuration framework is auto-generated. The outline is
correct, the tags are used appropriately, nothing should be
misspelled. Inasmuch as possible, useful values are filled in.
judicial editing - requires a human and a bit of thought. Look at
careful editing - much like judicial editing but requiring even
more care and thought. Be careful to avoid breaking the XML/OML format!
Follow the guidelines in the
Configuration file tag description.
Ask for help if unsure.
