"A Home without a cat, and a well-fed, well-petted and properly revered cat, may be a perfect home, perhaps, but how can it prove it's title?" — Mark Twain

  • Some of My Personal Interests

    Books & Reading

I love books, mostly fantasy and mysteries, light science fiction, and the occasional non-fiction or historical fiction.

    Cats

All cats in general, our cats in particular. I enjoy cat calendars, cat art, cat toys, and all things feline!

    BIG Cats

When I say "all cats in general", that includes wild cats as well as domestic puddytats.

    Going for Walks

We enjoy taking walks, especially on the many recreation trails in our area.

    Computers & Technology

I enjoy working with my computer (Mac OS X), programmming, creating websites; playing with various "techie toys".

    Weblogs & Social Software

    General Information, background, and links

My "primary" Weblog: Vicki's Notepad - Slighty Off Kilter
    My "alternate" Weblog: commentary
The Cats' Weblog: Postcards from the Furkids

    My Memes

    Reducing Carbohydrates

Rich and I are working on developing a reduced carbohydrate lifestyle.

    Poetry

I enjoy reading (and occasionally writing) certain kinds of poetry. Keep in mind also that song lyrics are poetry as well! I especially like:

Light verse (things that rhyme, scan, and flow!)
    Haiku and Senryu
    a selection of limericks

    Quotes

I enjoy collecting quotations. I subscribe to several "quote of the day" services and I run a "meme" called "...in other words..." which presents a weekly writing prompt based on a quotation.

The home page for ...in other words... also lists a number of links to quote sites on the web.

    My Glass Collection

I have a lovely collection of Ruby red and Vaseline glass. When I started these pages, my sister said, "I didn't know you collected red glass...". Funny, the things you find on the Web.
