The Macintosh Portable, released in Sep 1989, came with a padded nylon case. A friend was discarding one of these computers sometime around 2000 (the computer was discontinued in Oct 1991). I kept the case. The computer weighed a whopping 15.8 pounds (7.16kg)!
Since I carry my own equipment, this case seemed ideal for the Eden WT550B bass amplifier, with a little extra room for incidentals.
The amplifier fits easily in the case with over an inch to spare on each side, plus about an inch between the amp's top cover and the mesh storage pocket in the case top. There's room for several cables in that pocket, though I only have a power cable in there now.
I wanted to prevent the rear-mounted DI-level knob from pressing against the case when the unit is carried by the handle. (An alternative would be to simply turn the amp sideways in the case, so the fan side is down while it's carried.) I cut a couple of pieces of non-foam carpet padding, rolled them for thickness, and hot-glued them to the rear of the case.
