This caused things to break, but we didn't notice that for a while. The symptom was that SA on g3po (our front-end mail filter) was out of commission, passing everything through to goto (our internal mail server). The result was a slew of spam (Rich got a couple hundred messages in a couple of hours).
Once we realized that we had a problem and figured out what needed to be done (install GPG and reboot), things got a lot better. We think things are working OK now; let us know if you're having problems...
